Restaurant review: The Marina

The Marina'a Wellbeing Plank

The Marina’s Wellbeing Plank

Beautiful views, good food and great service.

Overlooking the Waitemata Harbour, The Marina in Hobsonville has a great location.

It was very quiet when we arrived, so with the combination of sea views and a gentle breeze on the deck area it was very peaceful.

We opted for the brunch menu, but they also serve lunch and dinner. I ordered the Wellbeing Plank, which includes house smoked salmon, gribiche eggs (I opted for poached eggs), beetroot relish, beans, dill creme fraiche, grilled sourdough and grilled salmon. At $26 it was a bit pricey, but I really enjoyed it. The salmon was flavoursome and moist, the relish was delicious, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I also loved the presentation.

My fiance ordered the Eggs Benedict and was really impressed with his meal. It came with trevally and potato rostis.

I think it’s well worth giving it a try if you haven’t already.
