Marc and I’s engagement party

engagement party Marc and I

Marc surprised me with a truly romantic and heartfelt proposal the week before Christmas last year. To celebrate Marc and I had our engagement party on Valentine’s Day at The Brigham in Whenuapai. We had the most fun and incredible time with our families and friends. I definitely recommend the venue for your next special birthday or even wedding. We had our party in the garden under the marquee and it was beautiful. Everyone commented on the location and also said the food was fantastic. Marc and I would like to thank our families and all of our friends for making the day so memorable. To those who couldn’t make it we look forward to celebrating our wedding with you 🙂

Here are a few snaps from our special day.

Random acts of kindness go a long way

I was at the petrol station the other day to fill up my car and was impressed when a young guy who worked there walked over to me and offered to fill it up. Then when I went inside to pay I looked out to see he was cleaning my back windscreen (which had been pretty dirty for a while but I’d been too lazy to do anything about it). It was such a small gesture but he didn’t have to do it and most people probably wouldn’t. Such a small thing but it made such a difference to my day. I wanted to give him a tip but I didn’t have any cash on me so I just thanked him for going out of his way and told him I really appreciated it.
I drove away feeling happier than when I’d driven in, and it got me thinking how nice these little acts of kindness can make people feel, and it made me want to do something nice for someone else. Continue reading

Skincare 101: Dry brushing

Spa experts and health enthusiasts swear by it and have been singing its praises for supposedly doing everything from exfoliating to reducing cellulite. So, what is dry brushing? How do you do it correctly? And is it too good to be true?

What are the benefits?

Dry brushing can buff away dead skin, boost circulation and lymphatic drainage, and ultimately rid the body of toxins.

What is she snacking on?

Snack by Julia and Libby

This treat by Julia and Libby is definitely on my list to try.

There’s so much more to snacking than an apple, a sandwich or cheese and crackers. Here’s some inspo to spice up your snacking habits.

One of my favourite snacks to make at home are Julia and Libby’s Cookie Dough Balls. It’s so hard to stop eating them. Check out the recipe. I have to admit I have destroyed a handheld blender trying to make these but it was worth it.

Juicing trend still going strong in 2015

A year ago trendsetters across the globe jumped on the juicing bandwagon in a bid to reset, detox and get their glow on. While there has been widespread debate over the benefits of juicing vs blending (which gives you more fibre), juicing just won’t go away. One thing I love about juicing is that there are endless opportunities for creating different flavours. Below you will find some of my favourite juices.

You ask, we answer: What are some easy and healthy lunch ideas to take to the office?

It can be hard to think of new or interesting ideas for lunches at work and can become all too easy to get into the habit of buying it each day. I’ve usually been pretty good with bringing lunch from home as I hate having to spend money on this. It wasn’t until I visited a nutritionist last year that I realised how much healthier my lunch choices could be. Continue reading

Yoga Girl

Yoga Girl

I was scanning Rachel Brathen’s inspirational Instagram account ‘Yoga Girl’ and discovered this post:

“I believe we should all live our lives in a way that’s true to who we are. For me, that means sharing what comes natural to me in the moment. Yoga and wine and beaches and airports and dogs and rants. It’s my life and it’s my responsibility to live a life of love, in whatever ways ring true to me. Continue reading
